Dead Celebrity Status takes head spinning lyrics, the sickest turntablism, killer rock riffs and phat beats to a whole new level. A phonic hybrid, DCS's music is what happens when hard-core hip-hop and aggressing rock collide.

The fiery forces behind Dead Celebrity Status have been making music since they were teens. Formerly of the Canadian gold status-recording artist “Project Wyze” (Sony), Yas and Bobby have grown up in Toronto submersed in the street music scene. At such an early age Yas and Bobby were one of the first white groups to be featured on the pages of Rap Masters magazine, toured the nation with the likes of Public Enemy and Ozzy Osborne and forged a reputation as gifted lyricists and explosive performers.

The two outgrew the “Project Wyze” and have retooled, reworked, and revamped their sound, teaming up with the 2003 DMC World Champion “DJ Dopey” to create Dead Celebrity Status. DJ Dopey is a master technician behind the wheels of steel driving this force. His scratching is a technical masterpiece dripping with flavorful soul. DCS partnered with high profile producer Danny Saber (The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, U2, Busta Rhymes, Public Enemy, Black Sabbath, Jadakiss) on their upcoming album “Blood Music”. It is Dead Celebrity Status's intensity and Saber's connections that brought some of today's heavy hitters to lend their talents to “Blood Music”: Joss Stone, Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction), Steven Perkins (Jane's Addiction), Bif Naked, Twiggy Ramirez (Marilyn Manson, A Perfect Circle), and DJ Lethal (Limp Bizkit, House of Pain).

“Blood Music” is peppered with political rants: on In This Day and Age (track #3) Yas takes on unspoken topics, shedding light on the truth about being a Muslim in today's twisted stereotyping society. Pop culture, true life and music industry madness are targeted on the lead single We Fall, We Fall (track #2). Yas and Bobby's years of lyrical symmetry come alive with the syncopation of their aggressive banter. The cuts that DJ Dopey chose for this album are tasty and flawless; His fader work makes him more a percussionist then a DJ. One can state with conviction that the most important story is the one that the music tells; the music should speak for itself, and “Blood Music” speaks volumes.

DCS signed to Bodog Music and has been gearing up for the “Blood Music” release and touring worldwide. This Summer the boys took on The Warped Tour playing the DIY stage and trekked Europe where they played to packed houses on the Jurassic 5 tour.
