Pete Wentz is denying reports that he issued a cease-and-desist order against a Canadian band over a song that allegedly pokes fun at his girlfriend, Ashlee Simpson. During a recent Neurosonic concert at NYC's Knitting Factory, the band's Jason Darr introduced the song "So Many People" by saying Wentz had sent the band a letter regarding the tune. ...more

There's a lot of negative inspiration a band could draw upon to write a nasty song about Ashlee Simpson: the nose, the creepy dad, the bizarre sister. California rock outfit Neurosonic selected Ashlee as their muse for an entirely different reason - her botched 2004 Saturday Night Live appearance and her Billboard award.

Pete Wentz has denied reports that he sent a cease and desist notice to Canadian band Neurosonic. The band, who played a show at New York's Knitting Factory last week, wrote a song entitled "So Many People" in response to Wentz' rumoured girlfriend Ashlee Simpson's notorious "Saturday Night Live" performance when the wrong backing track was played and she was proven to be lip-synching. Simpson ran offstage on live television.

It wasn't a terribly busy night, in fact, the turnout was pretty poor. However, one thing I can say is that everyone who was there seemed to enjoy themselves from start to finish. First up were Gundogs (who's set I caught the latter half of) - they are a 4 piece rock band - 2 girls, 2 guys. With very active backing vocals from the guitarist and bass player...

After initial success with his former band Out of Your Mouth, Jason Darr feels he finally came into his own creatively as frontman for the band Neurosonic. The group is currently on tour as part of the Family Values Tour."We definitely wanted to be on one of the big tours of the summer," said Darr, who jumped at the opportunity

To the rock band Korn, "Family Values" means bringing together some of the best bands of that genre to a series of summer sheds throughout the United States, including Phoenix's Cricket Wireless Pavilion. But at the show on Sunday (8/26), in 101-degree heat, it also meant

Neurosonic is on a mission. A mission to be a legend not only in their own minds, but in the minds of music fans around the world. Lofty heights are usually not attained without a lofty vision. The visionary setting the goals for the band and the driving force of the Canadian rock band Neurosonic is its lead singer and founder Jason Darr. Jason Darr and Drama Queen are fresh off a stint on Korn's Family Values Tour and in the midst of a tour supporting their Bodog label debut "Drama Queen". Drama Queen was initially released in Canada

Since 1998, the "Family Values Tour," the brainchild of Korn and their Management Company "The Firm," has continued to grow and attract quality acts! This year was no difference. By the looks of the absolutely sold out venue, a good lineup does bring out the fans. With inexpensive lawn seats and a very organized road crew that stuck to the schedule

During our trip to the Family Values Tour 2007 in Boston (Mansfield), I had an opportunity to talk to Jason Darr of Neurosonic. We met up with Jason behind their tour bus a couple hours after their set. According to Jason's recent blog entry, they had to cancel the Detroit show because Jason wasn't feeling well, so we really appreciate him taking a few minutes out of his recuperation time to speak with us

Drama Queen Review: RevelationZ Magazine
Best album I've heard this year, no danger.
Neurosonic is Canadian Wunderkind, Jason Darr. He came to rock via techno / dance. Our gain, their loss.
You can still hear the techno, but thankfully the dance mentality has been jettisoned.
Listening to Darr's self produced solo debut, 'Drama Queen' is like mainlining into a world where rock, rap, Beatle-esque pop, orchestras, psychedelia, industrial sized guitars and

Another cracking release from BoDog, Neurosonic lets you know it's going to be good fun by starting out with a track all about the Saturday Night Live lip-sync fiasco with Ashley Simpson. Let's just say fans of live performance who hate manufactured pop will be nodding their heads in agreement. This is great stuff with "Are Solar" and its spoken word interlude.

Drama Queen Review: Saint Rock n Roll.com
This is definitely one of the most original bands coming out of Canada. Neurosonic is where the Beastie Boys were afraid to go. Maybe if Linkin Park would ever release a new CD, it would sound something similar to this. This band is unique all over. Too many bands are being watered down into: "my girlfriend left me," with a 6/4 beat. Neurosonic doesn't follow any formula, and does whatever the "Fromage" they want.

Drama Queen Review: Melodic.net
I have been hoping for a long time that a new band/artist would rise up and sound like Filter, Jason Darr and his Neurosonic from Calgary,Canada has fulfilled my wishes with the debut "Drama Queen" that partially sounds like Filter to 60% but the rest is a mix of Celldweller?s industrial metal and a touch of modern rock.
Jason delivers knockout riffs, cool rhythmic rock, massive synthsounds and supermelodic choruses like a big smorgasbord
